Inquiry and Insight is a space for philosophical essays and concerned with how we know, what there is, and how our understanding of reality is shaped by inquiry. The focus is on careful analysis rather than commentary, and on developing arguments that unfold over time rather than reacting to passing controversies. While the essays vary in scope and difficulty, they share a common commitment to clarity, patience, and intellectual responsibility.
About the Author
Aaron Rutledge is a software professional by vocation and a lifelong practitioner of reflective inquiry by temperament. His interests lie primarily in epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, and philosophy of religion, with particular attention to how norms of understanding, judgment, and meaning shape both philosophical reasoning and ordinary cognition. Much of his work is informed by the tradition of critical realism and by sustained engagement with both classical and contemporary philosophy. He finds particular inspiration in the work of Bernard Lonergan and enjoys applying that perspective to diverse outlooks within both the analytic and continental traditions.
